A partnership built on extraordinary African stories
For years, Felix Studios has had the privilege of travelling across Africa with Wilderness, creating films that capture some of the continent's most extraordinary places, people and conservation stories. Our partnership has taken us from the floodplains of Botswana's Okavango Delta to the forests, savannahs and mountains of Rwanda, creating work across some of Africa's most remarkable wilderness destinations. Together, we have produced destination films, lodge films, conservation stories, brand campaigns and human-led documentaries designed to do more than simply showcase beautiful places. The ambition has always been to make people feel something about them. In 2026, that commitment to storytelling received significant international recognition at the International Tourism Film Festival Africa (ITFFA). It was an extraordinary year for Wilderness, which emerged as the festival's most awarded entrant, taking home 10 awards, including Gold and Silver awards, the Directors' Award and the festival's highest honour, the Pinnacle Award. Among the recognised work was a collection of films created through the long-standing partnership between Wilderness and Felix Studios, spanning luxury safari experiences, destination storytelling, conservation, community impact and youth development. For us, the recognition is a celebration of what has always sat at the heart of our relationship with Wilderness: ambitious ideas, extraordinary access and cinematic storytelling in service of something bigger.

Meet Me at Mombo
Gold Award | ITFFA 2026
There are safari destinations, and then there is Mombo.
Set in Botswana's Okavango Delta, Meet Me at Mombo captures the intimacy, scale and almost indescribable feeling of experiencing one of Africa's most celebrated wilderness areas.
Rather than simply documenting a luxury safari lodge, the film was built around a feeling: the anticipation of returning to somewhere that stays with you long after you leave.

Some of the most powerful stories in tourism have very little to do with tourism itself.
Kitso Paris Mpinang shifts the lens from destination to human impact, exploring the relationship between people, opportunity, conservation and the communities that live alongside Africa's wild places.
It reflects a wider philosophy that has shaped much of our work with Wilderness: that protecting wilderness and investing in people are inseparable stories.

In the wilderness, the hierarchy changes.
You Are Not the Alpha Here explores what happens when we enter landscapes where humans are no longer at the centre of the story.
Recognised with the Directors' Award at ITFFA 2026, the film represents a more conceptual approach to tourism storytelling, using cinematic craft and a strong creative idea to challenge the way we see our place in the natural world.
